Crocodiles killed a tourist in Zimbabwe

The tourist died as a result of an attack of crocodiles in the National Park Matobo in southern Zimbabwe. This is reported by the local newspaper The Herald.

The incident occurred on December 31, when the traveler rode an inflatable boat on a park reservoir. The crocodiles living in it attacked the man and his companion.

"John Bowman and Rosemary Mitchell were attacked while they were swimming in the crocodile-infested Mpomo reservoir in the Matobo National Park," said Tinashe Farawo,. "Both were rushed to the hospital, but Bowman died on the way.". Mitchell suffered serious injuries and is in the intensive care unit at the Bulawayo hospital.

As noted, the couple traveled with their colleagues. Citizenship of tourists is not specified.



Employees of the park after the incident urged tourists not to approach the wild animals that can be dangerous. They also expressed regret that the dead and injured used for riding forbidden in Matobo inflatable boats that do not provide security.

Earlier it was reported that a tourist from the US state of Florida, Jeff Witnessen seriously injured in Bali, trying to take away from the monkey his cap with the symbols of his favorite football team. He climbed behind the animal on the roof of the building, could not resist and fell from a 10-meter height.
