Authorities in Japan's Akito prefecture are trying to identify the remains of eight people found on an abandoned boat, which was nailed to the shore, reports BBC..

As noted, empty ships, which are called ghost ships, are often nailed to the shores of Japan. Presumably, in most cases we are talking about North Korean fishing boats.

A seven-meter boat was found on Sunday. There were no navigational instruments.

On board were found the remains of eight people, some of them have already turned into skeletons.

On Friday, November 24, under similar circumstances, another boat was dropped ashore Japan, on board were fishermen from the DPRK. They survived and reported that they were taken to a neighboring state due to technical problems.
