In Paris, arrested 35 "thieves in law" from Georgia

The agency calls the participants of the group "thieves in law", explaining this concept as "criminal brotherhood from the expanses of the Soviet bloc of such countries as Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine.

It is noteworthy that the police searched for criminals for two years, in cooperation with the Embassy of Georgia in France, Europol and Interpol. Detainees suspected of involvement in looting, extortion and illegal trade. Among the alleged members of the group are eight women.



During the operation, policemen seized 70,000 euros in cash, weapons and arrested 200,000 euros in accounts of suspects.

In addition to the Paris region, searches in the framework of the operation were also carried out in the Italian region of Calabria, where some of the detainees owned real estate.

As previously reported in "URA-Inform", on the outskirts of Odessa, the Security Service of Ukraine apprehended the organizer of the so-called "robbery of the century", which was wanted since 2016 for robbing the bank in Poland.
