The Federal Security Service of Russia, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stopped the activities of groups of individuals who organized arms sales to the Russian Federation. According to the FSB, in 21 regions of the European part of Russia searches were carried out by 62 citizens involved in the acquisition, manufacture and marketing of weapons, as well as arms smuggling from Ukraine.
Almost 200 pieces of firearms were seized from illegal circulation, including a Kalashnikov machine gun, 11 assault rifles, 38 carbines and rifles, 121 pistols and a revolver, over 7,000. ammunition and 18 kg of explosives. Employees of the FSB and the Interior Ministry stopped the work of 8 workshops, where ammunition was manufactured and weapons were modernized. Law enforcement authorities decide on the initiation of criminal cases. The siloviki also carry out operational-search measures to identify the group's criminal ties, including abroad, and their possible involvement in the commission of illegal actions in the territory of Russia.
