Famous Kharkov oncologist Yuri Vinnik, who on September 15 caught on a bribe of 380 thousand hryvnia, was arrested for two months. This information NewsRoom confirmed the first deputy military prosecutor of the Kharkov garrison Vladislav Zubko.

According to him, such a preventive measure was elected by the Dzerzhinsky District Court. And the suspect in corruption head of the department of surgical oncology of the Kharkov Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education Yuri Vinnik can leave the pretrial detention center if he pays a deposit of UAH 320,000.

Recall that the operation to detain an odious oncologist was conducted by the SBU together with the military prosecutor's office of the Kharkov garrison. Vinnyka was taken to a hot at one of the exchanges of the city where the transfer of money took place.

In the press service of the Security Service of the Kharkiv region clarified:

the official, at the direction of the university authorities, extorted from his colleague 380 thousand hryvnia for the extension of the labor contract for a new term. Criminal proceedings open on h. 3 items. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of a proposal, promise or receipt of an improper benefit by an official). The sanction of the article presupposes up to 10 years of imprisonment.

Last year, Yuri Vinnik became a figurant of one of the most high-profile corruption scandals in the city and was dismissed from the post of director of the Kharkov Oncology Center.
