The UN warned that up to 37 million people could suffer from Hurricane Irma. This is reported by the Deutsche Welle agency.

According to the representative of the UN Secretary-General Stefan Dujarrik, the UN opened a humanitarian mission on the island of Barbados in order to coordinate with the Caribbean emergency services and provide assistance to the victims.

According to meteorologists, on 7 September Irma can reach the Dominican Republic and Haiti, and then go to Cuba and the Florida State, where a state of emergency has already been declared. In Miami, people are being evacuated.

US President Donald Trump announced the emergency regime in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Florida.

Hurricane Irma, according to the authorities, turned "into a pile of ruins" of the island of Barbuda and the French part of the island of Saint-Martin. Barbuda destroyed 95% of properties, including 30% - completely.

Approximately the same situation - in the French part of Saint-Martin. Only on these two islands, according to the Ministry of the Interior of France, eight people were killed, more than 20 were injured. No drinking water, power supply interrupted.
