A group of forty pickers of berries disappeared in the forests of Finland and for several days people have not been contacted. Where are they and what is still a mystery to them.

At the end of July, 37 Ukrainians and three Estonian citizens went to collect cloudberries, blueberries and mushrooms. The last time a group of foreign citizens were in contact in the town Tuupovaara, in Joensuu in the central part of Finland, writes Yle.

According to the information of the portal, on July 30, the head of the hunting society of the city of Tuupovaara, Sulo Suhonen, received a call asking for the accommodation of people who came to pick berries. The Ukrainians and Estonians were provided with a hunting house and food.

The next day the fishermen were to advance on foot to the city of Yuka. But, for some reason the campaign was canceled. This was the latest information from the group, after which they ceased to communicate and report themselves.

A few days later, Sukhonen appealed to law enforcement agencies to find out what happened to foreigners. "We could not leave them to starvation," he said..

On Tuesday, August 8, police officers and the curator arrived to the house where 37 Ukrainians and three Estonians were accommodated. However, the building was empty and no people, not their belongings there was not. At the same time, Sukhonen saw traces of a vehicle near the house, presumably a bus.

Local police have so far refused to begin a full-scale search for the missing, because "does not see the motive of the crime". Attempts to find out who the fishers were sent to so far do not yield results.

None of the "berry wholesalers" with whom the portal's journalists were able to contact, knows nothing about the "strange group" of collectors of forest gifts.

But, as it turned out, the "exhaustive" information is possessed by the Ambassador of Ukraine in Finland, Andrei Olefirov.

The diplomat suggested that his compatriots, about the disappearance of which the media reported, did not disappear, but found another job.

"Not" disappeared ". From experience: found another job. On contact with the police, "Olefirov wrote on his Twitter.

The Estonian side does not yet give any official comments. As Yle notes, the arrival of a foreign group in this locality at the end of July looks strange, as berries in Tuupovaara ripen, usually two weeks later.
