The police instituted criminal proceedings against the medical personnel of the Boryspil hospital who were in the workplace while drunk as they arrived at the medical facility of the victim of a resonant traffic accident in the Kyiv region. This is written by Radio Liberty referring to the police of the Kiev region Nikolai Zhukovich.
According to him, the police recorded the fact of intoxication of doctors and made two administrative protocols on Article 179 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
"To date, the police opened a criminal proceeding under Article 140 (improper performance of functional duties by medical personnel) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine due to the fact that the girl's death could happen because of poor medical care," said Zhukovich.
"We will find out in the framework of criminal proceedings, whether this doctor provided first aid when the girl was brought to the hospital. If he is unqualified, poorly provided assistance, while drunk, he will be held responsible under the Criminal Code, this is up to three years of imprisonment, "- added a police spokesman for Kiev region.
In the evening of August 6, a traffic accident took place near Boryspil, where six people were killed - five passengers of a VAZ car, which went to the oncoming lane, and one passenger of the Opel car, which VAZ encountered.
Among the passengers of a Russian-made car, an eight-year-old girl who was brought to a hospital in Borispol. However, the child could not be saved.
Relatives of the victims who arrived at the medical institution saw signs of intoxication in the youngest nurse and trauma doctor. Later, relatives called the police found out that the level of alcohol in their blood exceeds 1.7 ppm (for comparison, the law prohibits the driver to drive with a level of 0.2 per mille alcohol content).
