As the police found out, the gang has already committed about 30 hijackings in the Kharkov, Poltava and Sumy regions this year.

In turn, for detaining criminals, a special operation was developed with the involvement of the criminal investigation forces, the investigation department and operational divisions.

Thus, two persons were detained directly while trying to illegally take possession of a vehicle in the territory of Kharkov.

Also, law enforcement officials stressed that one of the criminals had been detained several times on suspicion of involvement in hijackings.

"The suspects were connected with car repair workers who were engaged in dismantling and selling parts," the police said..

Note that during the searches, the numbered parts of the body of various car brands, documents, state license plates. Law enforcers also found 13 cars obtained by criminal means.
