Law enforcement agencies of the Kharkov region exposed a criminal organization of six people, who were engaged in robbery in the regional center. The group was led by the ex-operative officer of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region and the former head of the analytical intelligence sector of the same department, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the investigation, in November 2015 - March 2016, the suspects committed robbery in Kharkov, accompanied by the seizure, kidnapping of victims, the use of physical violence.

Acting in this way, the alleged participants of the criminal organization took from the victims a total of $ 73 thousand, € 4 thousand, 182 thousand UAH and other property, the GPU.

The actions of suspects are qualified by h. 3 items. 289 (unlawful possession of a vehicle), h. 2, 3 st. 146 (unlawful deprivation of liberty or abduction of a person), h. 4 items. 187 (robbery), h. 3 items.

357 (abduction, misappropriation, extortion of documents, stamps, seals, possession of them by fraud or abuse of power or their damage), h. 2 items. 364 of the Criminal Code (abuse of power or official position).

Prospective organizers of the group have been chosen as a preventive measure in the form of arrest. The course of the pre-trial investigation is under the control of the Prosecutor General's Office.

The department notes that if the guilt of suspects is proven, they can face up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
