For participation in pogroms during the G20 summit, Hamburg police arrested two Russian citizens. As reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the local police, Moscow residents of 20 and 30 years actively participated in unauthorized rallies, processions and riots in the streets of the capital of the last summit.

As policemen assure, men threw law enforcement officers bottles. When the police tried to detain them, they gave resistance to law enforcement and "inflicted a series of bodily injuries". Under German law for such acts relies from six months to ten years in prison.

The Russian diplomatic mission in Germany has not yet received official notifications from the Hamburg police about the detention of Russian citizens, a spokesman for the Russian embassy in Berlin, Denis Mikerin, said on Wednesday.. If this fact is confirmed, we will render all possible assistance to protect the rights and interests of our compatriots, Mykerin said on the official Facebook page of the mission.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova did not rule out that the detention of two Russians in Hamburg could be grounds for absurd suspicions about the Russian Federation. On her Facebook page Zakharova wrote: "Now we will be told that Hamburg has turned over two Russians. Then they will think and add that they did it on the instructions of the Kremlin ".

According to the DW, Hamburg police detained six Russian citizens during the investigation into the pogroms. Four Russians were released after the inquiry, two were arrested.

As a result of the riots in Hamburg in the days of the G20, nearly 500 policemen were injured in clashes with anti-globalists. A total of 51 offenders were arrested.

Most of them are citizens of Germany, among others - residents of Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and France.

Demonstrations of antiglobalists are periodically held in different parts of the world - during the G8 and G20 summits, meetings of WTO, IMF, World Bank and many others. As a rule, these actions are accompanied by pogroms and disobedience of the police. The goal of antiglobalists is to draw attention to the growth of inequality, the destruction of jobs and the infringement of social rights.
