During the fire, more than 3 thousand visitors and employees of the shopping and entertainment center were evacuated. The area of ??burning was about 1 thousand square meters, smoke area - 70 thousand square meters.

The fire began in the basement of the building. To get to the hearth of burning, the firemen had to dismantle the facing of the building. The fire was extinguished by 45 firefighters (more than 150 people). In extinguishing the fire, in addition to firefighting calculations, a fire train was activated, special tanks containing 180 tons of fire extinguishing agents. Passage along the Dmitrov highway was closed.

18 people were injured, 14 injured were hospitalized.

In addition to people, we had to rescue animals and inhabitants of the zoo and aquarium located in the basement. Fortunately, it was possible to do without evacuation. None of the inhabitants suffered.

It is noteworthy that this is the second fire in the SEC of the network "Rio" only in 2017. What is it - a chronic non-compliance with fire safety rules or an attempt to force the network out of the market, that is, arson? The smoke removal system did not work in the shopping center, therefore visibility deteriorated, which means that the work of firefighters also complicated. There were no signals of a fire, so viewers of the cinemas were completely unaware.. About the fire, they were informed by a surprised administrator-girl: "Are you in the hall? Come out! ". And disappeared. Everything was covered with smoke. The guard who appeared nearby did not know where to lead the frightened people.

In the shopping center "Rio" people did not know where to look for salvation. Several people closed in the refrigerator. Find them and save was not easy. To them rescuers made their way through thick smoke and heat under the cover of water jets.

The fire began with warehouses of textiles located in the basement. It is assumed that the reason could be a short circuit of the wiring, because the fire was preceded by a flood of water. The fire was not put out for a long time because the signal to the remote control panel arrived only forty minutes after the start of the combustion.

By midnight on July 10, the fire was localized, the fire rank was lowered to the first, and on July 11 there was no burning,.
