The command of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces published in its Youtube channel a video clip with fragments of multinational exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance and the partner countries of the Flaming Sword 2017 in Lithuania.

In the exercise took part Ukrainian division and personnel of the headquarters of one of the parts of the MTR.

"The scenario of the exercises was based on the observance of the principles of collective security and countering hybrid threats on the part of the aggressor state, taking into account geopolitical changes in the region in recent years," the ministry stressed..

On June 16, 2016, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law, which enforces the force of special operations.

On July 7, the Verkhovna Rada determined the legal status and methods of application of the MTR: 250 people's deputies voted for amendments to some laws concerning the MTR of the Ukrainian Armed Forces No. 4795.

The MTR's tasks include conducting in-depth raids and organizing ambushes in the enemy's rear, sabotage, preparation of bridgeheads for the advancement of the main troops, evacuation of targets, the release of surrounded Ukrainian troops and so on.
