The European Command of the US Armed Forces published photographs of the unsafe approach of a Russian Su-27 fighter with an American reconnaissance aircraft Boeing RC-135 over the Baltic Sea. As reported by the US military, the interception was qualified as unsafe because of the high speed of rapprochement and poor control of the Su-27.

Earlier NV reported that on June 19 in the sky over the Baltic Sea Russian fighter Su-27 flew to the American reconnaissance aircraft Boeing RC-135 at a distance of one and a half meters. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that the American aircraft carried out a "provocative turn" towards the Russian Su-27. The Pentagon replied that their plane did not commit any provocative maneuvers, but rather that the pilot of the Russian Su-27 fighter flew too quickly and badly controlled the aircraft. Source: HB.
