As a result of the incident, two people were killed. 36 more hostages were released. According to RT, French and Malian security forces managed to eliminate four militants.

At the same time, nothing is known about the personalities of the dead. At the same time, the Ministry of Security does not exclude the possibility that the attack could have been committed by jihadists.

In turn, the United Nations notes that among the tourists may be dead and injured. Hostage-taking is not excluded either.

They also noted that this weekend the hotel housed French servicemen, officials from the European Union and the United Nations.

Meanwhile, Salif Traore, the country's security minister, has already stated that as a result of the attack at least two people were killed. One of the victims is a woman of French-Gabonese origin. The minister also said that the military managed to release 36 hostages.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, in Mali shelled a camp of UN peacekeepers.
