The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is conducting a check on the death of Oksana Yashechkina, the wife of former member of the board of directors of Transneft, Sergei Yashechkin. As reported by the telegram channel Mash, the woman appealed to the doctors with complaints of weakness, and two days later she died in the hospital from toxic liver damage. Doctors suspect that Yashechkina became a victim of poisoning.

The husband of the deceased is currently on the run since 2015.

The petty bourgeois court sentenced Sergei Yashechkin to four years in prison for fraud of 100 million rubles, causing property damage through abuse of confidence, and abuse of power.

On the eve of the verdict Yashechkin, who was under house arrest, was ill and was taken by ambulance from his country house to the Istra District Hospital. The businessman fled the medical institution and was put on the wanted list immediately after the verdict was announced.
