Children in the Kharkov area were poisoned by an unknown substance

In Lozova, three schoolchildren today, on May 18, were hospitalized after being poisoned at a local training ground. This was reported by the head of the department of state supervision over compliance with sanitary legislation in the Kharkov region Tatyana Kolpakova. According to her, waste was taken to the landfill, which it is forbidden to take there. This substance is a deodorant that got into the air.

According to Kolpakova, the children from the nearest school and kindergarten were evacuated and sent home. To open tomorrow school, local authorities decide. The question is raised about the temporary stoppage of the work of the test site before the consequences of the emergency are rectified, notes SQ.

As the local television company Sigma TV reports, the schoolchildren of Smirnovsky NPK were poisoned. In barrels, according to preliminary data, there was an ethyl mercaptan. It is added to natural gas for a pungent smell. The substance is toxic and dangerous in large concentrations.

According to the portal, children with complaints of state of health were taken from school, other schoolchildren were offered to temporarily move to the village of Sadovoye, since there is a pungent odor in Smirnovka. Also, residents of the village can leave on a special bus. People complain of nausea and headache.

Eyewitnesses say that on the eve saw wagons with Poltava numbers that unloaded the barrels, and then poured out of them a clear liquid. Now some families with children leave the village.

District managers, emergency service specialists are now waiting for a special commission from Kharkov, which will accurately determine the substance, was kept in barrels. The injured children, according to the State Emergency Situations Ministry, are in Lozovskaya district central hospital, their lives are not in danger. Now the wind carries a pungent odor at Shativka.
