Fireman Robert Sutton arrived to the burning building in De Kalb district one of the first. "The house was engulfed in flames, there was smoke all around," Sutton told the local channel NBC11. "We did not know that people were trapped in a fiery trap".
As the channel reports, Sutton went to inspect the house, and, turning the corner, saw how on the second floor a window was opened.
In it appeared a man with a baby in his arms: his apartment quickly filled with smoke, and the man tried not to let the child suffocate.
"I just said: throw it," said Sutton. - "He gave up, and I successfully caught a child".
Captain Sutton Tom Burrell said that this rescue shows how important the work of firefighters. "It's all about good preparation," said Burrell. - "Years of experience and a good sense of the moment. I'm proud of my subordinates ".
