Iran is not able to independently decrypt the black boxes of the Ukrainian Boeing 737-800 aircraft, shot down by Tehran by mistake in January 2020.

This was admitted by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in an interview with NBC on Saturday, February 15.

"

The Iranian military, who shot down a passenger plane, believed that his radar recorded a missile that was supposed to strike Tehran, and now Iran needs to find out how this could happen, added Mohammad Javad Zarif.

At the moment, no one is engaged in the decoding of flight recorders, since Iran does not have the technologies necessary for this, Zarif said.

" Iranian Foreign Minister stipulated that Tehran is ready to hand over black Boeing boxes to American experts, provided that they will decrypt in Iran in the presence of its representatives.

A passenger plane of Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) was shot down by two Iranian missiles on January 8, 2020, just a few minutes after it took off at Tehran International Airport.

As a result, all 176 people on board died, including 11 citizens of Ukraine (2 passengers and 9 crew members). On January 11, Iranian authorities said they shot down the plane by mistake, " It is reported by Deutsche Welle.
