Dynamo forward scored over 25 goals in the championship and helped the team win the UPL and the Ukrainian Cup.

Dynamo forward Matviy Ponomarenko spoke about his start to the season, competition with his rivals, individual goals and goals for the current championship.

The forward recognized that he is not yet satisfied with his performance, but still wants to score more often.

" I don’t score enough, before there was more. It is necessary to be thorough and achieve greater results. I'm looking forward to showing up every day, bringing joy to the team and gaining victory for them."

Ponomarenko noted that after a successful last season, his rivals began to give him more respect.

" But now, in a confrontation with the leading scorer of the previous championship, the opponents, obviously, prepare for the matches differently, my strengths and weaknesses are more carefully studied. Aloe for me does not solve the problem: the need to go to the skin with such a charge, like a torus, effectively working on the team"

Recently, the forward took away two individual signs from his bags this season - as the greatest young player and the most productive scorer. At the same time, Ponomarenko voiced that it would be more difficult to advance until further progress.

" Alece is just a cob, even more rich, which needs to be thoroughly worked up to what extent. These are the little signs that motivate and give incentive - to progress, set new ambitious goals and achieve them."

The main special goal of the striker this season is Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s record for the most goals in the Ukrainian Championship. The Virmen footballer just scored 25 goals in a season.

“I want to break Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s record - 25 goals for the championship, and I will earn everything that lies behind me. May God grant you to win “gold” and the Ukrainian Cup – we appreciate everything. We hope that Dynamo will go through the remaining setbacks and achieve victories in the domestic arena."

Ponomarenko also shared his thoughts from the upcoming match against Epicenter. Last season, I scored two goals against my opponent at the Dynamo home stadium.

“Of course, I remember – both when I scored and how the defenders played hard against me. So I'm going to give it a try. Ale we hope to move the bar a little and on Mondays already hammered the Epicenter trichy. We’ll look for a super player, go out on the field and win”.

The attacker finds himself in a difficult situation, even though the Epicenter at the start of the season gave up the loss to Shakhtar.

Okremo Ponomarenko assessed Dynamo's victory over Niva in the Ukrainian Cup. The Kiev team achieved minimal victory on the field, and the forward himself was lost on the bench.

The footballer admitted that he would like to play a match on the field, but calmly decided to make a rotation until the coaching staff decides.

“I don’t like and don’t want to sit on the bench, I will do my best to be on the field and help the team with effective actions. I understand that the coaching staff, having decided to create a rotation, give playing practice to other players, also taking it calmly."

After two consecutive UPL matches without victory, Ponomarenko believes that cup success will help the team turn around on a different path.

" Rozmova was in the middle of the team, everyone understands what the situation is, so we have to move into the skin game – there are simply no other thoughts,” the forward said.
