Carpathian head coach Francisco Fernandez assessed his team’s victory over Kolos (2:0) in the sixth round match of the Ukrainian Championship.

The Spanish team signifies the character of their players, who, after the lackluster results of the front team, were able to secure an important three points.

" We understood that the fight would be important, and not least because of the fact that we were facing an important opponent. Also, take into account the fact that the two previous matches were close to the point where I could win. Emotionally, it is important to overcome such moments, but today’s team showed an overcoming mentality.

We were lucky enough to score the first Swedish goal, the start of the match was more than equal. After another goal, perhaps ten hells of a rival could push us a little lower. In this case, I think that when I decided to fight we controlled the group.

In the other half we had a lot of scoring chances and we could have increased the number on the scoreboard. Prote respectfully, we got three points and reduced the goal to zero. It is important for us. It is urgent that the team renew themselves and prepare for the upcoming cup competition,” Fernandez said.

Also, the Carpathian coach explained the decision to release goalkeeper Roman Misak from the starting warehouse. In the previous matches, the main goalkeeper of Lviv was 19-year-old Denis Marchenko.

" We also made a choice for Misaka's sake in today's match. This does not mean that in the upcoming matches you cannot play someone else at the gate. We have four goalkeepers and their skins that can play, as well as field players.

Let me also add that Marchenko is a 19-year goalkeeper and is at the peak of his development, the process has begun. You need to stay calm and help your progress. Misak played a good game today, like his partners. There's no one to see here. I respect that the whole team showed good football today,” Fernandez added.

Zavdyak Peremoz Karpaty scored three points and came first in the UPL tournament table.
