Benfica head coach Marco Silva commented on the decision to leave Anatoly Trubin on the bench for the first match of the 3rd qualifying round of the European League against Harts. Samuel Soares is at the starting warehouse, and the team won the game with a score of 6:1.

The Portuguese defender was asked, and there was no decision until the goalkeeper gave a singing signal for Trubin. Silva categorically denied this and said that he chose a sporty character.

“I don’t let the gravers out at the starting warehouse so that later we can tell them who don’t play. My decision is purely technical. So, as Trubin started in the first two games, so Samuel started in the match with Villarreal, and Trubin in the game with Flamengo. The decision was made to let Samuel out once again. It’s just that,” Silva said.

Trubin has been unavailable as Benfica's main goalkeeper for the remaining three seasons, but during the summer off-season, the coaching staff consistently favors both goalkeepers.

The match against Harts also featured Georgiy Sudakov. The Ukrainian football player provided an assist, which became his first goal for Benfica since today.
