In Ukraine, starting from 2027, the requirements for retirement at 60 and 63 will again be tightened.. At the same time, the number of people who will have to work longer is likely to increase. If in 2026 to retire at 60 you need to have 33 years of experience, then next year - 34 years. This is stated in the current provisions of the law “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”. Thus, the length of service requirements have been growing every year since 2017.. This growth will continue in 2027. At the same time, the requirement for retirement at 63 is growing - from 15 (in 2017) to 25 years (in 2028). The only thing that remains unchanged is the retirement limit of 65 years – 15 years of service.. According to the latest data, the average length of service of a Ukrainian is 33 years and 9 months. This will be enough to retire on time even in 2026. However, already in 2027, when the length of service requirement is 34 years, a significant part of Ukrainians will probably not be able to receive payment from the Pension Fund on time.
So, from 2028, in order to receive a pension at 60, you must work continuously from at least 25 years of age. Moreover, it is important not only to work, but also to pay contributions from your salary.
You can view your experience on the PFU portal. Here you can go through verification through Diya or your bank and in your personal account check the approximate date of retirement, the approximate size of the pension, and your length of service. The retirement age in Ukraine will not be raised. In any case, there are no such plans yet.
