Rayo Vallecano achieved a narrow victory over Strasbourg (1:0) and reached its first ever continental final.
The only goal of the match was scored by Brazilian striker Alemao, who once again became a key figure for the Madrid club. His very accurate strike allowed Rayo to consolidate his advantage after the first match and go further than two matches.
The match was officiated by the Suddivan team in collaboration with Kruzlyak, and the VAR system worked under Van Bekel's supervision. Finally, Strasbourg denied the chance to equalize the goal from the penalty spot, but goalkeeper Batalha made a great save and saved a possible result for the Spaniards.
With the French club firmly on the side, Rayo demonstrated an organized defensive game and efficiency in key moments. Ing Perez's team captured the victory and achieved a historic exit in the final, which would become the first continental for the club.
