A presentation of Lina Kostenko’s new poetry collection “Wind from Mars” took place in Kyiv, during which the 96-year-old writer spoke about the war and the future of Ukraine. The poetess said that the country faces new difficult trials ahead, despite faith in its future. She made a corresponding statement addressing the Ukrainian military who were present at the event, LB reports. According to Kostenko, they remain the main reason for faith in the country, despite difficult forecasts.

Kostenko also noted that she experienced similar feelings back in the early 1990s, when she realized that Ukraine’s independence would require a high price.
