Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the inhabitants of Ukraine and all modern civilization!
News from the USA. The main thing by the end of the week. Saturday, May 2, 2026 Today in the issue:.
* On Tuesday, the 47th President tweeted announcing the withdrawal of some US troops from Germany. According to the content of the tweet - as revenge for the fact that Chancellor Merz criticized the United States for the war with Iran - as a war without strategy, without consultation with allies, which led to a global energy crisis.
Already on Friday, the Pentagon announced that the United States would withdraw 5,000 of its approximately 38,000 troops from Germany over the next six months.. And on Saturday, Trump told reporters that he would not stop there and would announce new cuts to the American presence in Germany and Europe..
The Wall Street Journal reported, citing its sources, that a decision was also made to abandon the deployment in Germany of ground-based launchers for Tomahawk missiles and Dark Eagle hypersonic missiles and, accordingly, the missiles themselves. An agreement to station these missiles and the batteries to launch them in Germany was reached between the US and Germany during the presidency of Joe Biden in 2024. And this placement was supposed to happen in 2026. Now he won't be there.
Is there anything new in this news If there is, then only from the point of view of the fact that this news suggests that the political program of the 47th President and the Republican Party is being implemented. This program itself has been known for a long time.
Back in 2020, while still the 45th president, Trump was planning to withdraw a third of US troops from Germany (There were approximately 33,000 US troops in Germany at the time, increased to 38,000 by President Biden in 2022). His decision was not carried out. On the one hand, there was the covid pandemic, which slowed down all processes, on the other hand, Trump was busy with his election campaign. But there was also then Secretary of Defense Esper, who was clearly in no hurry to implement this order from Trump (and was fired immediately after the election, in November 2020), as clearly contrary to US interests. Joe Biden, having become president, on his first day in the White House canceled Trump's decision to withdraw a third of troops from Germany.
But after becoming the 47th president, Trump returned to what he had left unfinished as the 45th. This actually concerns, of course, not only the withdrawal of troops from Germany.
However, now we are talking about exactly this. Let's open " This policy document, prepared by the Heritage Foundation, a long-time think tank of the Republican Party, is being implemented by the 47th President and his administration with the support of the Republican majority in the 119th Congress..
Here's what it says on page 94 of this program:.
"
Let's move on. Let's open the US National Security Strategy - the main official document defining foreign policy, published by each administration.. Trump administration strategy released in early December 2025. Page 27:.
"
– Restoring conditions of stability within Europe, as well as strategic stability in relations with Russia;
– Ensuring Europe's ability to stand on its own two feet and act as a group of like-minded sovereign states (including by taking primary responsibility for its own defense) without being dominated by any hostile power;
– Formation of resistance within European countries to the current vector of European development;
“Eradicating the idea of \u200b\u200bNATO as an alliance in a state of permanent expansion and preventing this idea from becoming a reality.” So, if for some the decisions made by the 47th president in the past week became news, then in fact all this should have been expected.
His vice president, Vance, publicly declares with aplomb that he is most proud of ending US military aid to Ukraine.. His Defense Secretary Hegseth said the same thing while answering questions from Democratic senators on the Senate Armed Services Committee.. “This is exactly what the American people want,” says the head of the Pentagon proudly and smugly (although at least 60% of Americans, according to polls, believe that the United States should support Ukraine).
The administration's proposal to Congress for a record $1 defense budget for 2027. 5 trillion contains $0 to replenish the budget of USAI - Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. And the $400 million previously allocated by Congress for 2026-2027 is not being used by the administration.
What is the foreign policy of the 47th president and the American far right leading to
To the weakening of the US position in the world, to the weakening of its influence, to the loss of trust on the part of all countries that were the country's closest allies after World War II.
The 47th president began by destroying the USAID agency - the Agency for International Development and closing all assistance programs to other states that were implemented by this agency. And this was non-military assistance - humanitarian and economic, which the United States provided to no less than a hundred countries of the world. This was the “soft power” that made it possible to keep many countries from falling into China’s orbit. Now this “soft power” is gone. And a significant number of countries, primarily Africa and Asia, ended up in the Chinese embrace. Since they need various types of assistance, the United States refused this assistance. There is no one else to ask for it except from China. And China won’t just help anyone. And its sphere of influence is expanding and will strengthen, while the United States has deprived itself of the opportunity to influence these countries and counteract the growing influence of China.
The administration of the 47th president stopped aid to Ukraine. The 47th could not force Ukraine to capitulate. But his attitude towards Ukraine, which until January 20, 2029 will remain the official attitude of the United States, will also remain a shame in the history books.
Trump has made territorial claims to NATO ally Denmark, repeatedly threatening to use the army to take over Greenland..
Constant complaints about the leaders of almost all allied countries, frequent insults against many of them have become almost routine.
The threat to leave NATO and the mention of NATO only in the third person, the constant opposition of the US to NATO (as if the US is not a member of NATO, the founder and initiator of the creation of the Alliance) have also become routine.
And therefore, the announcement of the withdrawal of some troops from Germany and the refusal to deploy missiles there cannot be considered unexpected. All this should have been expected.
And all this, unfortunately, will continue.
* The foreign policy of the 47th president, which lacks any real strategy, is illustrated by the war with Iran. On Friday, three-time Pulitzer winner Thomas Friedman published an op-ed in the New York Times entitled "
Here are some quotes:.
" He told Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that he “has no cards” to confront Russia. Trump told Iran's leaders that they "
Can anyone tell me when Trump's poker night is scheduled at the White House I'd really like to have a seat at this table..
Trump is betting that by blockading Iran and cutting off its oil exports, he can force Tehran to negotiate on his terms.. However, some experts believe Iran has enough revenue and oil reserves to last for at least a few months..
Meanwhile, Iran is making a counter-bet: by closing the Strait of Hormuz—and thereby driving up gasoline and food prices for Americans and all their allies—it could eventually force Trump to act in full accordance with the TACO acronym that characterizes him: “Trump always chickens out.”.
It's painful to watch. Both Trump and Tehran seem to be saying to each other: “I will hold my breath until you turn blue.”. Let's see who can gasp for air first.
The real question is: how the hell did the Iranian regime last so long—two whole months—against the combined military might of Israel and America The answer is simple: Trump doesn't understand how much asymmetric warfare has changed geopolitics in just the last few years."
The head of the Pentagon, Hegseth, and the 47th president himself never tire of repeating: the Iranian fleet lies at the bottom of the sea, Iran has no combat aircraft and air defense systems left. But at the same time, Iran was able to mine the Strait of Hormuz and use drones to attack any ships that it did not want to allow through the strait..
And it’s no wonder that retired General Wesley Clark, a former NATO commander, says the United States will need up to hundreds of thousands of troops and dozens more warships to forcefully unblock the Strait of Hormuz and ensure navigation through it..
The strait remains blocked. Iran remains with its 500 kg of uranium enriched to 60%, sufficient to create nuclear warheads, and 10 more. 5 tons of less enriched uranium. In Iran, the same regime remains in power, which has become even tougher, since the weight of the IRGC, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has clearly increased in it.. And the number of sunk Iranian ships, destroyed aircraft and air defense systems does not outweigh this.
And an energy crisis is unfolding in the world, which threatens to turn into an economic crisis, primarily in all developed countries.
And these crisis phenomena are obvious in the United States itself.. Gasoline prices have increased by 50% since February 28. An increase in transportation prices means an increase in the price of all goods that are transported.. Higher fuel prices mean higher prices for electricity. An increase in the price of electricity means an increase in the price of all goods for the production of which it is used.. Inflation is rising. Significant rise in price of aviation fuel provokes a crisis in civil aviation. Air tickets are becoming more expensive around the world. Fuel shortages force airlines to cut flights. On Saturday, one of the few large American budget airlines, Spirit, announced that it would cease operations in the United States.. All flights are canceled. Tens of thousands of passengers were left with nothing. The administration's offer to help with money did not help.
Why Thomas Friedman remembered TACO - “Trump always retreats”. Because exactly six months later, on November 3, congressional elections will take place. And going to elections with the crisis in the economy unfolding every day means going to defeat in the elections. And the 47th president really doesn’t have any “cards” that can stop these phenomena, and in such a way as to simultaneously look like a winner in the war with Iran.
There are 994 days left until the end of the story called “Fear: Trump in the White House” (the title of the book by Bob Woodward, published in 2018).

Ultimately, what happens in the world depends on us. Whether we fight evil, do Good, remain simply observers, wait passively and believe that someone somewhere will decide something for us, or fight evil and do everything possible so that Good wins.
We must not allow evil to win.. The victory of evil will mean the end of the world we live in. We cannot allow this. Especially now.
Ukrainian Friends, I hug and love you so much. Take care of one another, I beg you.
Ukraine is and will forever be.
And evil will be overcome and punished. І tse immediately.
