People's Artist of Ukraine Maria Burmaka revealed what support her family received from the state after the death of her younger brother Svyatoslav, who defended his homeland from enemies with arms in hand. The serviceman’s heart stopped after he returned from the front, so his relatives, according to the singer, received “not fantastic payments”.

At the same time, as the performer emphasized, assistance from the state greatly facilitates ensuring a comfortable life for the children of Svyatoslav Burmaki, especially with regard to their stay in educational institutions. She spoke about this in a commentary for the project “Wound at the Great Place”.

“Two years have passed and, of course, the family received certain payments. My brother took part in the fighting, but died after he returned from the war. These are not fantastic payments, but the family received help. And the children receive help, like free kindergarten, free food, some kind of training. There is help from the state. Whatever it is, I’m grateful for it,” the artist shared.

Let us remind you that Svyatoslav Burmaka passed away on January 4, 2024. From the first days of the great war, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in the 43rd separate artillery brigade named after Hetman Taras Tryasil. While performing combat missions, he received serious injuries and concussion, which affected his psyche. As Maria Burmaka said, her brother became tougher, reacted violently to every little thing and did not want to seem weak.

However, Svyatoslav Burmaka had a much more serious health problem - coronary heart disease. On the night of January 4, the soldier became ill, so they called an ambulance. Unfortunately, doctors were unable to save the warrior, because he suffered a heart attack. Maria Burmaka shared that she learned about her brother’s illness only when she saw the death certificate.
