On March 12, the 8th stage of the Biathlon World Cup of the 2025/2026 season ended at the Tehvandi Sports Center stadium in Otepaa, Estonia.. The program included men's and women's sprints, pursuit races, as well as single mixed and classic mixed relays.
The route to Otepaa is located at an altitude of approximately 149 m above sea level and passes through hilly terrain with a height difference of approximately 147 to 187 m. This is a compact, fairly technical route with frequent climbs and short working sections, where strength endurance and the ability to quickly change rhythm are important.. The stadium and shooting range are located very close to the spectators, and part of the course runs next to the stands and forest areas, due to which athletes find themselves in the stadium area several times and under constant pressure from the public.
The peculiarity of the stage is also related to the season calendar: it takes place shortly after the 2026 Olympic Games, so Olympic medalists and champions usually take to the start line, which gives the competition additional status and attention of fans. In addition, Otepaa is only being held for the second time in the history of the Baltic World Cup, making it a rare and notable stop on the biathlon tour..
The only broadcaster of the tournament in Ukraine is “Suspilne Sport”: all competitions are shown live on digital platforms and regional channels.
In addition, free broadcasting is available on the official IBU website. Broadcasts races and Eurosport, included in the "
