The quarter-final match of the Scottish Cup between irreconcilable opponents ended in a huge scandal. After Celtic's victory over Rangers in the post-match penalty shootout (4:2) at Ibrox Stadium, there was a massive invasion of fans on the football field.

Fans of the team from Parkhead flocked onto the lawn to celebrate the success of their fans.. The Swedish situation got out of control when the Rangers' fans broke through to them. Matters began, signal flares went off.

In order to avoid a large-scale fighter, the police and stewards had to create a human shield-baricade between the enemy camps. Once again, the unrest of the law enforcement authorities began to subside, and the fans returned to their place. This incident has now turned to the traditional distribution of tickets.

This was the first episode of 2018 when Celtic fans took over the entire Broomlawn Stand at Ibrox. Historically, the guest quota for the Old Firm Derby was close to 7500 minutes, but the rest of the clubs, as part of mutual sanctions, changed it (from 750 places before the new ban on division.

The Scottish Football Association harshly condemned these fans.

" The investigation will be carried out strictly in accordance with the protocol of the ship’s board,” said the organization’s river officer.

Offended by the clubs in a commentary for BBC Sport, they said that they are still dismissing official statements. Celtic head coach Martin O'Neill was willing to comment on the incident in detail during the post-match interview:.

" The fans were filled with emotions on large-scale scenes.. I won’t use this at all, otherwise I’ll think about it and talk to you later,” Martin said.

Natomi Rangers coach Denny Rohl noted, without giving too much away:.

“I can’t remember what happened at the end, since I was already at the tunnel,” summed up the fakhivets.
