Famous Ukrainian singer Sofia Rotaru broke her silence on social networks to honor the memory of the outstanding composer Vladimir Ivasyuk. Today, March 4, the author of the legendary hits “Chervona Ruta”, “And I’m Going to the Distant Mountains” and “Balada about Malvi” would have turned 77 years old.
In Instagram stories, Rotaru published a rare photo from her personal archive. In the photo, young Sofia and Vladimir pose against the backdrop of Carpathian landscapes.
" Thank you for your friendship and songs,” Sofia Mikhailovna touchingly signed the frame, adding an emoji in the form of a red heart.
Let us remember that their collaboration began in 1971 on the set of the musical film “Chervona Ruta”. The singer’s repertoire includes more than 20 works by the composer, including “Vodograi”, “The Song Will Be with Us” and “The Ballad of Mallows”.
Vladimir Ivasyuk was found dead in the Bryukhovichi forest in 1979 at the age of 30. Although the Soviet authorities insisted on suicide, modern examinations in 2019 proved that the composer could not commit suicide.
