President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree that put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the application of sanctions against Russian scientists, heads of bodies of the so-called occupation administrations, as well as organizations that support Russian aggression, spread propaganda, are involved in the distortion of historical facts, the theft of cultural property and documents of the National Archival Fund of Ukraine. The Office of the President announced this on February 24. It is noted that among the 29 subjects under sanctions is the Russian propagandist Alexander Chubaryan, who is the co-author of a school textbook on the history of Russia, where, in the style of Russian propaganda, he justifies the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Also - Russian pseudo-historian and adherent of the “Russian world” Alexey Miller and Artem Lagoisky, who betrayed Ukraine, entered the service of the occupiers and headed the so-called “Ministry of Culture of the Kherson Region” and helps the Russians in everything: from accepting the “documents” necessary for the invaders to violating the rights of Ukrainians. Sanctions were also applied against 15 Russian organizations and bodies of the so-called occupation administrations that are involved in supporting Russian aggression and occupation of Ukrainian territories, falsifying historical facts, stealing cultural property from museums and reserves of Crimea, appropriating documents from the National Archival Fund of Ukraine and using them in favor of the aggressor. Ukraine will transfer all relevant information to partners for further work on synchronizing sanctions in international jurisdictions.
