The Kharkov Regional State Administration officially recognized the situation in the energy sector of the region as a regional emergency. The decision was made by the regional commission on issues of technological and environmental safety and emergency situations, said the head of the regional state administration Oleg Sinegubov in Telegram.

The main reason for this status was the constant shelling of the Kharkov region by the invaders, which pose critical threats to the region’s energy system. Declaring an emergency is intended to mobilize additional resources and speed up decision-making to stabilize energy supplies in times of war..

Energy situation in the Kharkov region.

The Kharkov region remains one of the most war-affected regions of Ukraine. Systematic rocket and artillery attacks by occupation forces regularly damage energy infrastructure facilities, leading to massive power outages for the population and industrial enterprises.

Declaring a regional emergency allows the regional authorities to quickly coordinate the actions of relevant services, attract additional resources to restore damaged facilities and ensure priority supplies of electricity for critical infrastructure.

Joining the SvitloDim program should become an additional tool for increasing the stability of the region’s energy system and protecting civilians from the consequences of enemy attacks on energy infrastructure.

Let us remind you that on the night of February 3, the invaders once again attacked energy infrastructure facilities in the Kharkov region. In particular, more than 16 thousand residents of the community found themselves without heating during a 20-degree frost.
