At the Konotop station in the Sumy region on the afternoon of Monday, February 9, a Russian drone hit a locomotive that was supposed to join a passenger train, said Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine Alexey Kuleba.

The official noted that the Russians continue targeted attacks on civilian railway infrastructure, while focusing on the northern regions - Sumy and Chernigov.

The State Emergency Service clarified that as a result of a UAV hitting the territory of a railway station, an electric train caught fire. Luckily the fire was put out quickly.

At the same time, Kuleba noted that this is not the only attack on the railway today - tracks were damaged near the Tereshchenskaya station in the Sumy region. Train traffic on this section was temporarily limited to restore.

Also, a Russian drone hit a service vehicle that was being used by railway workers to repair a section of the track.. Unfortunately, one worker was injured and was taken to hospital with shrapnel injuries, while other team members were safely evacuated.

And in the Chernigov region, at the Snovsk station, the occupiers hit a diesel train.

Note that due to more frequent attacks by Russians on the railway infrastructure, Ukrzaliznytsia adjusts train traffic in certain sections and transports passengers by buses.

In the morning, the company warned that trains on the routes Sumy - Kyiv and Sumy - Kharkov may depart late, as well as possible operational changes in regional and suburban services.

At the same time, the section of the Lozovaya - Barvenkovo \u200b\u200b- Kramatorsk railway is considered dangerous and traffic here is organized through a bus detour.
