Barcelona officially confirmed its intention to compete for the right to host the Champions League final in 2029. The club published this statement on its official website.

The Catalans are planning to hold the final match of the tournament at the new Spotify Camp Nou stadium. The arena has been under reconstruction since the summer of 2023, and after completion of work its capacity increased to 105 thousand spectators.

Barcelona, \u200b\u200btogether with the Metropolitan Council of Barcelona and Catalonia, has already submitted a mandatory package of documentation necessary to start the procedure for assessing the application with UEFA, in advance of the establishment of protocols. The initiative is also supported by the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

The club stated that the process is in the advanced stages of analysis, and the formalization of the remaining candidacy and the submission of a new dossier with all the necessary documentation is planned for the beginning of 2026.

The 2026 Champions League match will take place on May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, and the 2027 final will be hosted by Madrid's Metropolitan Stadium.
