President of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andrey Shevchenko assessed the work of Sergei Rebrov’s coaching staff at the helm of the Ukrainian national team in the 2026 World Cup qualification.
The head of Ukrainian football gave a comment to the Champion portal, answering a question about Rebrov’s possible dismissal.
" We have been working the entire cycle to win a ticket to the World Championships and our journey continues. Sergei Rebrov's team left the group in second place. On the first - one of the strongest teams in the world, the French team.
Therefore, I believe that Sergei Rebrov showed the maximum result in the qualifying group and now, together with the team, he must take the final steps towards the World Championship. And we will support him and the team,” Shevchenko said.
Ukraine will meet Sweden on March 26 in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoffs. The winner will advance to the final of the mini-tournament, where they will meet Poland or Albania on March 31. The best of these four will go to the World Cup.
The final part of the 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
