Among the main candidates for imprisonment is Paul Simonis. As journalist Florian Plettenberg reports from Sky Sport Deutschland, the club from Amsterdam has already started negotiations with the Dutch footballer.

Ajax technical director Alex Kroes made special contact with Simonis, who had been with the shortlisted club just last summer, and the specialist then chose the option of Wolfsburg.

Negotiations between the parties are fraught, and Amsterdammers see Simonis, who now enjoys the status of an active agent, as a potential attacker of John Gaytinga.
