Member of the Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Sergei Leshchenko was summoned to the Verkhovna Rada over the program of 3,000 free travel kilometers. This decision was supported by 150 people’s deputies, said Yaroslav Zheleznyak from Golos..

“On my initiative, Sergei Leshchenko, a member of the Supervisory Board of UZ, was summoned to the hall tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. for a report on UZ -3000. For 150 out of 150 required. I must talk about this populism and the need for money,” Zheleznyak wrote.

It was reported that the UZ-3000 is part of the so-called winter support, the full package of which President Vladimir Zelensky ordered to be prepared by November 15. As for the direct participation of Ukrzaliznytsia, the goal of the corresponding program is to provide Ukrainians with the opportunity to travel by train for free for a distance of up to 3 thousand kilometers. According to the Ukrzaliznytsia itself, thanks to this people will be able to visit relatives, meet with defenders or spend time with children in holiday camps.

At the same time, as Bohdan Danylyshyn noted in the article “100 days of the Sviridenko government: between stabilization and stagnation,” he pointed out that the budget deficit is more than 20% of GDP and there is a high dependence on external loans and assistance. And in general, the budget remains predominantly consumer: the priority is social payments, not stimulation of production. Grant programs for small businesses are often populist in nature, without creating real jobs.
