Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca commented on his team's defeat in the home match of the 9th round of the Premier League against Sunderland with a 1:2 draw.
Following Maresca’s words, the team showed an insufficiently high level of greed: “I respect that we were not good enough.”. If you are not on top of Premier League, the consequences can be serious. If you can’t win, please respectfully try not to lose.”.
The coach made concessions to the defense, which led to the goals conceded. “The other goal was a long pass behind the back, we had a two-on-one with two central defenders, and they didn’t perform properly. The first goal came after the throw-in, because the stench started six or seven people in the sixteen-meter zone,” explained Maresca.
It also reinforced the marriage of creativity and graces in ball control: “We didn’t create a lot of chances, except for the goal, we wasted other balls, we didn’t give 100% on the field. When the game was 1:0, we played several duels, and the teams needed to play better against them."
Maresca added that the problem could also arise at the top of the canopies: “When we approach the singing zones of the field, we are hanging, because it is obvious that there are four or five gravers in the penalty area. Today, perhaps, there are more on the right at the top of the serves, lower at the graves, like at the penalty kick."
