Former world lightweight champion, Ukrainian boxer Denis Berinchyk (19-1, 9 KO), shared his plans for the future in an interview with Sport 24. He dispelled rumors about his intention to retire from boxing.
“We are indeed negotiating a fight under K-1 rules, but at the same time we are waiting for a fight between Sam Noakes and Abdullah Mason. There are three fights planned in which I can take part.. All potential fights are open as I am not 100 percent committed to them yet."
The boxer did not hide the fact that for him, the opponent who offers more favorable conditions would be more preferable: “Much will depend on the financial side. Whoever offers the best terms will get the fight."
In 2025, Berinchik should not be expected in the ring, since he intends to fight the next fight with one of the fighters of the Noakes-Mason pair, and they will need time to fully recover.
“I think one month is not enough for potential rivals to recover. Their fight is scheduled for November 24 in Saudi Arabia. And I'll wait. When the opponent is determined, we will sit down and agree on the terms of the contract. We would, of course, like this process to go faster, but it does not depend on our desires."
Berinchyk said that he wants to hold his next fight in London, as well as two fist fights in Meshkogon in Ukraine.
The last time the 37-year-old Ukrainian entered the ring was in February 2025, when he was defeated by Keyshawn Davis and lost his WBO world title. This belt is currently vacant, and it will be played by Sam Noakes and Abdullah Mason on November 22.
