Russian removal from world basketball: a new decision of the fiba has appeared

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) extended sanctions against the national teams of Russia and Belarus, which were removed from the competition after the start of the full -scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Representatives of the Coagress countries will still not be able to participate in tournaments.

This is stated on the official website of FIBA. The decision to extend the removal of Russians and Belarusians was made at a meeting of the organization of the organization. Sanctions against the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus will be valid until this year, after which the FIBA \u200b\u200bExecutive Committee will determine their future fate.

At the same time, the President of the Russian Federation of the Basketball (RFB) Andriy Kirilenko took part in the Fiba Congress. And two representatives of the RFB received places in various committees of the International Federation.

Recall that Fiba was one of the first international federations to decide to remove teams from Russia and Belarus from its tournaments on March 1, 2022. Since then, the status of the Russian Federation and RB remains unchanged.
