The investment fund created by Ukraine and the United States to attract funds for mining resources may become an instrument for encouraging the transfer of new military assistance from the United States.

According to him, although the main task of the fund is to support projects in the field of subsoil, it has the potential to play a broader role in strengthening defense partnerships.

Explaining technical details, another deputy minister of economics Igor Sobolev noted that new assistance from the United States can be taken into account as a contribution to the fund.

" That is, the size of their share will grow in proportion to the sum of new contributions, ”he said.

At the same time, the Ministry of Economy emphasized that, within the framework of the current agreement, the United States will not be considered previously provided to military assistance - only the one that will be transferred in the future.

The text of the agreement notes that receipts to the fund should be formed by royalties, licensed payments and income according to agreements on the distribution of products in the field of production.
