Labor relations: can an employee who was absent at work for several months

In Ukraine, labor relations between the employer and the employee are regulated by the relevant legislation. There are times when an employee does not appear at work for unknown reasons for six months. Specialists of the South-East Interregional Department of the State Service on Labor said whether the employer can dismiss such an employee.

The Derzhprazi explained that during martial law in Ukraine there were some changes in labor legislation, which also relate to the grounds for the dismissal of workers.

Experts noted that in 2022 amendments were made to Article 36 of the Code of Laws on Labor of Ukraine.
