NASA said that one of the rock samples assembled by the Perseveration Mars trip on Mars has textures that are not similar to what scientists have seen earlier, writes Independent.

The NASA Persevrance Mars-Road collected a sample of the rock on Mars, the textures of which are not similar to anything else, what scientists have ever seen on the Red Planet.

This sample, called Silver Mountain, is now sealed in the titanium pipe, and is waiting for the moment when he, along with steel samples, will be delivered to the ground for further study.

Persevrance collected dozens of rock samples on Mars in the Ezero crater and they left some of them on the surface of the planet. These samples will help scientists understand the geological story of Mars, its climate, and also determine whether there was ever a life.

NASA said that Martian samples can be delivered to Earth no earlier than 2035 and no later than 2039. Now the US space agency chooses the best delivery way to save money for the mission as much as possible. The final decision on this subject will be made by the following year.

Persevrance recently completed the rise to the top of the Crater Ezero, where he first landed in February 2021. In this crater, billions of years ago there was liquid water, which means there could exist microorganisms.

Now the NASA Mark Road is moving on and should visit four areas that are of particular interest for scientists, where it will also take samples of the rock.

The Mars -Road has already overcame more than 30 kilometers in total and, with the help of a special drill, collected several dozen rock samples that are left in different places in titanium tubes.
