Temple University Student Tyler Sabapati, 18 years old, tragically died on January 29, 2025 after death, falling from a lamppost during the celebration of the victory of the Philadelphia Eagles football team over the Washington Commanders in the final of the National Football League, writes USA Today.
The incident occurred in the center of Philadelphia, at the intersection of the 15th and Market Street. The video shows how Sabapati climbed onto the pillar, and then fell on the sidewalk, receiving serious head injuries that entailed the brain injury. The young man was immediately taken to the hospital, but a few days later he died from injuries.
Tyler was a successful gymnast, collected more than 120 medals in provincial, regional and international competitions and studied at the faculty of physical exercises and sports science at Temple University. He was a member of the university club team in gymnastics. The University expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Tyler, and also provided psychological support to students and teachers.
This tragedy occurred that evening, when another car accident in Philadelphia also led to numerous injuries. The car ran into a crowd of people who celebrated the Eagles victory, and although the victims were taken to the hospital, there were no dead in this incident.
The police continues the investigation of these two events.
