The war claimed the lives of 147 Ukrainian cultural figures and 95 media people. These figures not only indicate huge losses, but also a terrible reminder of the tragic moments of our history. As the Stalinist regime exterminated the generation of talented Ukrainian artists in the 20s and in the early 30s of the twentieth century, and today Russia is consciously trying to destroy the cultural elite of our nation. This was reported on Monday, January 27, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.
The Ministry recalls that at one time the literary and artistic generation, known as the “executed revival”, left behind immortal masterpieces in literature, painting, music and theater. These artists became symbols of national pride. And now we again lose not just talents, but part of our soul, because each of them was a unique person who made an unforgettable contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture. Today's Ukrainian journalists working in conditions of constant risk create vital news, investigations and reports. They record the events of war in order to convey the truth not only to Ukrainians, but also to the world. They work continuously, collecting evidence of the crimes of the invaders, and at the same time cover the greatness and courage of our defenders.
