Due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation, many Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes and become internally displaced persons (IDPs). IDPs can receive financial assistance from the state and international organizations. The Ministry of Reintegration told how IDPs can avoid becoming victims of online scammers.

The department noted that social networks and telegram channels were again activated by scammers who allegedly offer assistance for internally displaced persons from international organizations..

“The scammers also create phishing sites that resemble sites for processing social payments, in particular, ePidtrimka, assistance from the EU, and various programs of charitable foundations,” the report says..

The Ministry of Reintegration noted that all information about receiving assistance from international donors is published exclusively on the official websites of state bodies and international organizations..

“On the official resource, they may request personal data and a bank account number. But an international donor will never ask for bank card details. Therefore, in no case do not provide a bank card number, CVV code and PIN code for your card,” the department noted..

IDPs are also encouraged to report cases of fraudulent activities to the National Police at 102.
