The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) bought only $3.7 million on the interbank foreign exchange market during April 2023 and sold $1,374.1 million. The negative balance amounted to $1,370.4 million. This is evidenced by the data of the NBU.
This means that the NBU reduced the sale of foreign currency on the interbank market by 19.7% compared to March, when the central bank sold $1,669.0 million.
The volume of sales was the lowest since August 2022, when the NBU sold only 1,329.7 million. dollars.
Since the beginning of the year, the NBU bought 65.0 million on the interbank. dollars and sold 8,617.5 million. dollars, the negative balance reached 8,552.5 million. dollars.

It was reported that the dollar exchange rate in Ukraine in the near future, most likely, will not be able to grow by more than 10%. And in case of a successful offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the exchange rate will be at the level of 37 hryvnia per dollar.
