In Ukraine, public holidays are May 1 (International Labor Day), May 8 (Remembrance and Reconciliation Day), May 9 (Victory Day over Nazism in World War II). The Verkhovna Rada previously proposed to cancel the holidays on May 1 and May 9. According to Art.. 73 of the Labor Code of Ukraine, if state or major religious holidays fall on a day off, the Monday following them is also a day off.

In 2023, martial law is in effect in Ukraine, introduced due to Russia's military aggression, so all additional holidays have been canceled in the country.

How many days off will there be in May.

In May, Ukrainians will rest on the 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th. There will be eight days off in May.

There will be no extra days off because:.

May 1 (Monday) – working day;

May 8 (Monday) – working day;

May 9 (Tuesday) – working day.

Earlier we wrote that in Ukraine the number of people who consider it appropriate to celebrate the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation on May 8 is growing, while support for the appropriateness of celebrating the Day of Victory over Nazism on May 9 is declining..
