The Rada of Europe presented a plan for the restoration and renewal of Ukraine

In Kyiv, representatives of the Rada of Europe and the Ukrainian government presented a common plan for Ukraine for 2023-2026 " This plan aims to strengthen the resilience of Ukrainian state institutions, strengthen democratic governance and the rule of law, and protect the fundamental rights of citizens. The Action Plan will support the country's efforts to comply with its obligations as a member state of the Rada of Europe and implement European integration reforms in accordance with the decision of the European Council in June 2022 on granting Ukraine the status of an EU candidate.

“Over the next four years, we will continue to work with the Ukrainian authorities to meet needs and priorities, in particular in the areas of constitutional justice, anti-corruption and money laundering.; development of an independent, efficient and reliable judiciary; promoting freedom of speech and freedom of the media, strengthening the protection of the rights of national minorities,” said Dr. Klaus Neukirch, Director of the Program Coordination Directorate of the Rada of Europe.

Thanks to the resources already attracted, as of January 1, 2023, 18 projects were launched covering the protection of the rights of IDPs and war-affected people; documenting and investigating human rights violations in war; fight against discrimination; support for the functioning of the judiciary; ensuring freedom of the media and strengthening ethics and others.

The participants of the meeting expressed their readiness for further work within the framework of the new Action Plan to strengthen domestic reforms, counter Russian aggression and move closer to EU membership.
