The Letychiv community in the Khmelnytsky region banned the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate on its territory. This decision was supported by 18 deputies of the society, Suspilne reports with reference to the village head Igor Tysyachny.

“Thus, at the 36th session of the VIII convocation of the Letychiv settlement council, the appropriate decisions were made: to prohibit the activities of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate on the territory of the Letychiv community and to terminate the right to permanent use of land by religious organizations and apply to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to terminate lease agreements that do not comply with the requirements.

Earlier, the Khmelnitsky City Council decided to terminate the right to use 13 land plots for the churches of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate. A similar decision on 19 land plots was also made by the Kamianets-Podilskyi city council.

At the same time, on April 4, at an extraordinary meeting, the Khmelnitsky Regional Council decided to ban the activities of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate in the region.

The decision was made after priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate beat a military man in Khmelnitsky on April 2, Artur Ananyev, who asked why services were still held in the church in Russian.. On the same day, the Holy Intercession Cathedral in Khmelnytsky transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
